Six New Masquerade Generation Albums Complete and Upcoming

Masquerade Generation has fully completed six albums - five LPs, and an EP (in French) which will be released incrementally in the months which follow.  The first release, Autumn Witch, will be forthcoming prior to the end of the year.

A vampiric successor to Young Vulgarians, Masquerade Generation uses a library of vintage synthesizers to craft sensual, nostalgic post-mortems of forsaken 80s / early 90s goth. Recorded in cultural isolation on an island in Alaska.

For fans of Sisters of Mercy, vintage perfumes, Euroshima, darker Suede, shou puerh tea, Star Trek TNG synths, early White Wolf Publishing, management accounting, etc.

We enjoyed the approach used on the last 3 YV albums - delving deeper into the being of the band/project by creating a series of albums at once, and pushing concepts to their spiritual and philosophical depths - so decided to double that approach and create 6 albums.  Except this approach to guide future releases.

Silvis Record's 50th album - "L" (the roman numeral for 50), is scheduled to appear in 2020 as a compilation.

What's Going on at Silvis Records?

If it's felt relatively quiet at the Silvis Records website recently, it's because there's a lot of work going on behind the scenes involving bands/albums which will materialize in 2019.

- Silvis Studios has been going through a process of total reconstruction which began in 2018.  We've massively upgraded the core of the studio, have done a dramatic microphone cabinet overhaul, and are most recently installing new lighting and security systems. 

- We currently have two new bands working in the studio:

Asenath Anyox - Dark shoegaze; imagine MBV tapping into their gothic roots.  Asenath is putting together a massive amount of content that we expect will be released over multiple albums.

Masquerade Generation - Late 80s / early 90s style goth/darkwave in peak form.  Currently in song-writing mode.  Lots of synth.  We are extremely excited about this addition to our roster.

- Additionally, Naukati is working on a piece of music that will be longer than Wagner's "Ring of the Nibelung" cycle.

Young Vulgarians: Semper Autumnus - Out Now!

As of October 24th, 2018, the 2nd of the albums constituting Young Vulgarians' Autumn Trilogy, "Semper Autumnus," is out now and available on CDBaby.

The third and final album, "Tulip Bulb World," will be released November 24th.

Young Vulgarians: Macaronic Anathema - Available Now!

Young Vulgarians have re-emerged with a new trilogy of albums dedicated to autumn, each with nine songs (three to the power of three), the first of which - "Macaronic Anathema" - is now available at CDBaby.com .

In 2018, Young Vulgarians has devolved into what it once began as - a solo endeavor.  Yet the vision painted through YV's Autumn Trilogy provides the ultimate realization of the project's original intended aesthetic, emulsifying a combination of avid dance floor rhythms, gothic nostalgia, and a layered and baroque lyrical complexity, buoyed by its largest-ever collection of vintage synthesizers. 

The second and third entries into the trilogy, "Semper Autumnus" and "Tulip Bulb World" are complete, and will be released on October 24th and November 24th.
