Lilitu Inamorata: Out Now

In our efforts to hasten the complete publication of Masquerade Generation's gothic synth pentalogy, we are pleased to announce the release of Lilitu Inamorata on Bandcamp.  Pay what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law.

Lilitu Inamorata concludes Masquerade Generation's 5 album cycle of music.

We still have a French language EP in the pipeline.

Also, expect an extra song to appear on Silvis Records' upcoming 50th Release Compilation, "L."

In the meantime, we are busy working on a series of albums by Asenath Anyox.  Expect aggressive, old school 1989-style gothic shoegaze in grey jeans and nondescript black tees.

More New Masquerade Generation: Auspex Full-Length

Masquerade Generation's fourth album, Auspex, is out now on Bandcamp.  Pay what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law.

Originally, the intent was to release Masquerade Generation's albums at a rate of one per 2 to 3 months.  However, Silvis Records is accelerating the release of Masquerade Generation's catalogue and making it all available for free as soon as we are able to, in a gesture of solidarity with those in quarantine and isolation, outwaiting the global parade of death.

Masquerade Generation: Habanita - Out Now

[CORRECTION - Habanita is out NOW rather than March 21st.]

Masquerade Generation has released its latest album, Habanita, via Bandcamp.  Pay what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law.

Habanita is a smokey cloud of vintage synthesizers paired with melodramatic vampiric vocals; an antique airship's memory of distinctive yesteryear voyages to fallen empires. The sound of dried blood on a Hermes scarf. A demitasse's memory of Alfonso Bialetti's slide rule. The third album from Masquerade Generation, an isolationist goth project based on an island in rural Alaska. (That is correct - actual Alaskan coldwave. Coldwave does not get any colder.)

Already we are noting that "Solitude's Pale Gaze" is getting a much higher proportion of attention than the other tracks, which may say something about the current state of humanity.  After all, what better times to listen to mournful vampiric nostalgia?

Free Music for Social Distancing

Silvis Records is excited to jump aboard the COVID-19 announcement bandwagon by making a Friday the 13th proclamation that it has been making progress in several areas:

- Around 50% of the S.R. catalogue has been migrated over to Bandcamp, where it is available for free.  You'll see these changes reflected in the URLs within the links on the right.  (If you're using a phone, switch to "full site" mode.). We are doing this because CDBaby disabled half of the albums we made available for free under their prior "free distribution" agreement, unless we agreed to an outrageous demand to pay CDBaby additional money.  Meanwhile, Bandcamp is way easier to use and enjoy.

- Expect another new Masquerade Generation album to go up this month.

- Asenath Anyox albums are in progress.  There is a very large amount of material; A.A. essentially used the Masquerade Generation approach of recording the entire catalogue at once.

With society shutting down and "social distancing" becoming mainstream (we have been practicing it for years while living on an island in Alaska), we anticipate there will be fantastic opportunities for Silvis Records to stay on top of things and get more music out there.  Who knows - maybe we'll get some interviews up, as well.
